Why Train

Billy Vetter’s fitness transformation from before he started lifting to training in the gym.

I started lifting in 2018, right before college.

At 6'2" and about 140 pounds, I was skinny, lacked confidence, and did not feel strong or athletic. I started with a mix of bodybuilding and powerlifting, focused on eating more, training consistently, and getting a little better each week.

Eight years later, I am around 210 pounds - leaner, stronger, and far more confident than the kid who first walked into the gym.

But the physical transformation was only part of it.

Training was the first thing in my life where I could clearly see what happened when I set a goal, stayed consistent, and did the work. I learned discipline, patience, confidence, and how to push through discomfort instead of quitting when something got hard. Those lessons carry into everything: school, work, relationships, sports, and life.

That is why I train people.

I love helping clients of all ages become stronger and more capable. I have watched an 84-year-old client add 80 pounds to his lat pulldown in one year—from 50 pounds to 130 pounds for reps—while becoming more confident getting up from a chair, moving through daily life, and using the stairs. I have helped moms add 100 pounds to their squat, feel stronger in their bodies, and build real resilience. And I have worked with 14-year-olds with no sports background, teaching them their first push-up and pull-up while helping them build confidence that carries into school, friendships, and every other part of life.

For younger clients especially, fitness can be life-changing. It gives them a productive outlet, teaches them how to work toward a goal, and shows them that they are capable of more than they think. Strength training is not just about looking better or lifting heavier—it is about building habits, self-respect, and confidence that can last a lifetime.

My goal is to meet every client where they are and help them become stronger, healthier, and more confident than when they started.

Because fitness is more than a physical transformation. It is a way to build a better life..
